Data Protection (L.O.P.D.)

In compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, as well as applicable national data protection legislation, Organic Law 15/1999 of 13 December on the Protection of Personal Data, and its implementing regulations approved by Royal Decree 1720/2007 of 21 December, you are hereby informed of the basic elements of the processing of your personal data:

Purpose of Processing

    • a) your participation in this edition of the Fundación TALGO Award and in subsequent editions, as well as toinform you of the call for applications,

b) the management and awarding of the first edition of the “TALGO Foundation Award for Excellence in Women Engineers,” should you be selected as the winner,

c) the dissemination of the award should your application be selected as the winner; and

d) compliance with any applicable tax or other obligations related to the Award.

Legal Basis

The consent of the interested party, and the Foundations Law regarding the purpose and objectives of the Talgo Foundation, which legitimizes the existence of the Award.

Data Types

Name and Surname, contact telephone number, contact email address, academic qualifications, university attended, department, position, length of time in current position, years of service with the company/organization, awards received in the context of the Prize, or in any other area, image.

Data Recipients

PATENTES TALGO SL and its subsidiaries, for the purpose described above, for the proper management of the Prize.

International Transfers

Data Retention Period

For the duration of the Prize process and, once completed, the interested party authorizes Fundación Talgo to retain their data indefinitely for the sole purpose of including it in the Foundation’s Annual Reports, limited to their image and name and surname.

Furthermore, in accordance with the Foundations Act and Law 10/2010 on the prevention of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, your data will be kept for a period of 10 years, as required by law, solely for the purposes of these regulations.

Data Subject Rights

  • Access to data: obtain confirmation as to whether or not your personal data is being processed.
  • Rectification: obtain without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you.
  • Erasure: obtain without undue delay from the data controller the erasure of personal data concerning you.
  • Restriction of processing: limit the processing operations that would otherwise apply, although the data will remain stored in the files designated for that purpose.
  • Objection to processing: object to the use of your personal data for a specific purpose, without prejudice to data that is essential for that purpose.
  • Complaint to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD): in case of non-compliance to have your requests addressed.

How to exercise your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection with the data controller by sending your request in writing with the reference “Personal Data” to FUNDACION TALGO, C/ Claudio Coello 33 Bajo C- E 28001 or by sending an email with the same reference to fundaciontalgo@talgo.com specifying which right you wish to exercise.

Response time

We will respond to requests within a maximum of one month from receipt of the request.

This period may be extended by a further two months, if necessary, depending on the complexity and number of requests.

The person in charge will inform the interested party of the extension within the first month from the request.
