Promoting STEM vocations
One of the main goals of the Talgo Foundation is to foster young people’s interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and to promote training in the field of Research and Innovation.
To this end, since its inception, the Foundation has been running projects aimed at both professionals and students in schools and universities to stimulate interest in this field, especially among girls and disadvantaged groups, as well as to eliminate existing barriers, gender stereotypes, and the connection between the academic and professional worlds.
These projects have as their main objective the need to promote equal opportunities, further support and encourage R&D&I, and foster interest in its study among future generations of professionals, thus helping to increase the knowledge of current professionals.
CSIC + Talgo Foundation
Scientists in Training
This pioneering program in Spain is aimed at 3rd-year ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and 2nd-year PMAR (Program for the Improvement of Learning and Performance) students in the Community of Madrid. Its main objective is to stimulate scientific talent among teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The students will complete their training program and activities in close interaction with researchers in laboratories and research centers.
The Talgo Foundation has actively collaborated by awarding scholarships and providing lab coats and backpacks for the practical training.
Creatic Association
Girls Create Tech
The Talgo Foundation and the Creática Association have created a project to work together to promote STEM skills training. The aim is to contribute to the development of these skills in young girls between the ages of 11 and 14.
Objective: To reduce the gender digital divide.
The project focuses on 16 discovery and experimentation workshops covering electronics, robotics, digital fabrication, artificial intelligence, drones, and applied science.

Conferences and Workshops
"Children as Protagonists of Science" Congress
Collaboration with the Garraf Pedagogical Resources Centre. The objective is to provide a space for scientific communication among children and to value the scientific work carried out in educational centers.
Symposium on Research Papers
The TALGO Foundation also collaborates with the Centre de Recursos Pedagògics del Garraf, which belongs to the Departament d’Ensenyament of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the GARRAF education service, which have also participated.
"Imagining the Present" Program
The Talgo and Margarita Salas Foundations are launching the "Imagining the Present" Program, which aims to foster interest in science and STEM vocations among primary and secondary school students through debate.
STEM Workshops for Schools
The Foundation is launching this new initiative with the aim of promoting and conveying the importance of STEM in order to encourage engineering, as well as the importance of choosing them, both in their university and professional careers.
